If this allows people to get EAD soon after getting approval for I140 I guess it should be good. Once a person gets EAD after 180 days he will be eligible to change employer. Also spouse will be able to work all the time we are waiting 5-7 years for PD to become current. Looks good to me.
I feel scenario that dates become accidentally current is quite rare. Am I missing something?

There should be a way to mention the no of Green Cards applied for in a family. I could vote as EB2 . but in my family I applied for 3. this count also should be captured right?

Oh... the H1b worker who maintains the site got frustrated that his gc is going nowhere and went back to his home country.
DOS tried to update the system reflecting a big jump in the visa dates for May. The system was unused to any changes lately - leave aside such large forward movements - and as a result it crashed.
DOS managed to recover the system by replacing all date fields with character fields. The rumor is that the value for all those character fields is now "C", whatever that means.

I have finished my 6 years quota of H1B and right now I am on TN visa (I am Canadian). Since I started the green card process a little late, I still need more time to finish the green card process. So, my question is, is there any way I can go back to H1B visa again once my TN visa expires. I can not renew my TN because I have applied already for I-140 and that shows my intent to immigrate to US.

Until you file for 485, you don't have immigration intent, I-140 is employer application.
So, you might be ok with TN renewal. Once you file 485 you cannot go for TN renewal.
Also, If your I140 is approved I guess you can apply for H1 beyond 6 yrs. Else, the normal 6 year rule may apply in which case folks have to stay out of country for an year and come back.

Get a second opinion from another attorney. Pay a consult fee if you need to. I've had several experiences with attorneys giving me suspicious answers, answers that don't match up with what I've researched, and just plain wrong advice.
If your attorney continues to give you bad / wrong advice, don't be afraid to fire them and get a new one, even if you've paid your fees up front. Avoiding trouble with a bad attorney will be more than worth the price paid for getting a new attorney.

I traveled via Lufthansa last month ( EWR-FRA-MAA) and had approved H1B petition on hand ( to show that I'm legally working without any gaps) and on returning I showed AP.
If you look at German consulate site, they have mentioned that if an Indian citizen residing in US is traveling to India, then he just need to have proof of continuous legal stay in US.
If an Indian citizen living in US is travelling to say, Australia, then he needs to have German transit visa in addition to Australian Visa.
While returning, it is either AP or valid stamp on passport.

It's easy to let others do the job for you. Does that sound familiar? Don't many of our employers use us on H1 visas that way? Taking advantage of the situation to get more for less or nothing??? ARE YOU GOING TO BEHAVE IN THE SAME MANNER, ESPECIALLY WITH YOUR FELLOW FRIENDS-IN-STRUGGLE, FELLOW IMMIGRANTS???

I am one who missed the 2007 july boat...even though i filed in 2007 (485) my I-140 denied and we lost ead,ap and every thing..
if they give at least EAD my wife can start work..i can also look direct client in this tough situaitons...its very diffucult to get mange in the work with H1b...
please every body share with more information regarding this.

On January 9, 2009, we mailed the new card directly to the address we have on file. You should receive your new card within 30 days. If you do not, or if you move before you get it, call customer service.
THEY SAID THIS WAS A NEW CARD. I WANT TO KNOW DO THEY DISTROY THE FIRST CARD THAT WAS SEND TO ME OR IS THIS NEW CARD WAS THE LPR(GREEN) CARD THAT HAVE 10 YEARS OF EXPIRATION? PLS URGENT REPLY THANKS
Relax and just wait for the mail. Only Last Action Taken is valid.

When your adjustment of status application(I485) approves then you will be registered as Permanent Resident.

Hello,
Last November I quit my job in the US and left the country as well. Two days ago, I received an email saying my 485 is approved, and card production was ordered. The card will go to an address in the US where someone can forward me the mail.
What should I do? Try to enter the U.S. with the card? What to say to POE officials? WIll I be questioned?
